Honors

In the St. Charles Park District's statistically-valid 2021 Community Survey, the #1 reason for visiting Mt. St. Mary Park is the sculpture exhibit followed by walking paths and river access.

In 2019,  Arts Alliance Illinois recognized the sculpture exhibit with an Arts in Park Award Honorable Mention for leadership, passion and imagination in using the arts to strengthen communities.

 

In 2014 and 2015, the St. Charles Park District was a member of the International Sculpture Center, a nationally-recognized, member-supported, nonprofit organization founded in 1960 to champion the creation and understanding of sculpture and its unique, vital contribution to society.

 

In 2014, Illinois Association of Park District's chose the exhibit for its Best Doria Arts in the Park Award.

In October 2011, the Illinois Association of Park District and the Arts Alliance Illinois recognized the St. Charles Park District with an Arts in the Park award for its continual effort to provide cultural art experiences, especially the Sculpture in the Park exhibit, for people of all ages.

In January 2010, the Downtown St. Charles Partnership released the results from a St. Charles Resident Survey that ranked the Sculpture in the Park exhibit as the third most enjoyable experience for the downtown area.

The 2009 Sculpture in the Park exhibit was selected as an Arts in Park Award Honorable Mention in recognition for its leadership, passion and imagination in using the arts to strengthen communities by the Arts Alliance Illinois.

The 2007 Sculpture in the Park exhibit was one of the Top Three Finalists in the category of Organizational Partnership Development, at Lt. Governor Pat Quinn’s Illinois Main Street’s Annual Awards for Excellence.

The 2006 Sculpture in the Park exhibit was a winner of a St. Charles Chamber of Commerce Civic Image Award and the Downtown St. Charles Partnership’s Downtown Pride Award.
